
Pianist Yuval Chen is an imaginative and expressive artist whose performances combine emotional depth with pianistic elegance. A graduate of The Juilliard School (BM, MM), Yuval is currently pursuing the Artist Diploma at Juilliard, studying under the mentorship of Yoheved Kaplinsky.
He has appeared as a soloist with leading orchestras including the Israel Philharmonic, and in the 2024–25 season, he made his debut with the Albany Symphony Orchestra performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. He has also performed across Israel, the U.S., and Europe, as well as in Hong Kong where he was a finalist of the Hong Kong International Piano Competition.
Proficient in both composition and piano, Yuval is passionate about including original works in his solo performances.
Over the years Yuval has participated in master classes with world renowned musicians such as, Sir András Schiff, Murray Perahia, Menahem Pressler and Christoph Eschenbach among others.
Yuval's musical journey began at the age of seven, studying for many years with Inna Rubin at the Ra’anana Music Center in Israel. From 2014 to 2018, he studied with Prof. Asaf Zohar at the Buchmann-Mehta School of music at Tel-Aviv University, and currently studies under the guidance of Prof. Veda Kaplinsky at the renowned Juilliard School in Manhattan, NY.
After earning both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Juilliard, Yuval has progressed to the prestigious Artist Diploma Program at Juilliard, where he is currently continuing his studies.

Finalist at the 2025 Hong Kong International Piano Competition.
1st prize and The Audience Award in the Aviv competitions, AICF 2018.
Semi-finalist status at the 2022 International Dublin Piano Competition.
Yuval was granted a scholarship from the America- Israel Cultural Foundation for a number of years and a merit scholarship from 2014 until today.
Yuval has performed as a soloist with the Israeli philharmonic Orchestra, the Albany Symphony Orchestra, Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra IBA, Ra'anana Symphonette, Ashdod Symphony Orchestra, The Beer Sheva Sinfonietta and at the esteemed Aspen Music Festival in Harris Hall.
At The Julliard School, Yuval is a recipient of the Susan W. Rose Piano Fellowship, the Joseph Kalichstein Memorial Scholarship, the Howard And Ethel Ross Scholarship, and the Fanya Moll Scholarship.
